MANLINESS |
Outline
Throughout this course we have been exploring, expanding, and developing our abilities to construct,
organize, develop, and present more effectively our arguments, explanations, opinions, beliefs, and
responses. Using these skills, we will combine them with our viewing and reading of Shakespeare’s
Macbeth to craft and write a final written CPT. Following your chosen theme (equivocation, manliness, or
children) select and prepare to write about and through one of the topics listed below. Regardless of topic,
or written format/style, you must write and complete between 5-7 pages (double-spaced, normal letter
size) on the day of your scheduled writing period (extra time is available at lunch and afterschool should
it be needed).
All CPTs must be written in-person, in school. Notes need to be reviewed by the teacher before you can
begin writing (you can come earlier in the day to have notes reviewed to quicken your start). Should you
not show up, for any reason, then you will write this alongside your exam. Extra time is available if you
don’t complete by the end of the period. You may stay in at lunch (or show up early during lunch to start)
and/or continue after school.
