This article is more technical and in-depth than the previous links, and
offers some excellent suggestions. Be sure to review the more
fundamental reading before diving into this one. - (7 pts) Use one of the tools in this last link to assess your network security.
Include a screen shot of your results.
○ Make Use Of: Browser-Based Network Security Tests
This article offers a round-up of current tools meant to help you test
your home network’s security. Coincidentally, it also offers you some
down-and-dirty info on some of the ways someone can take advantage
of a network. Better safe than sorry, right? - (5 pts) Explain the role of the domain name system and why it is one of the
Internet’s vulnerabilities. - (5 pts) Describe packets, how they are created and how they are carried on
packet-switching networks. - (5 pts) Briefly define: TCP, IP and UDP.
- (5 pts) Explain the differences between static addresses and dynamic
addresses.
(6 pts) Remaining points will be allocated to the quality of the finished presentation.
Minimize verbal tics such as “um”, keep the presentation moving quickly and
